Redmi Note 10S versus Redmi Note 10 5G: The Difference Between The Two Phones

The Redmi Note 10S and Redmi Note 10 5G were both parts of the Redmi Note 10 series phones that were announced globally last March 2021.

Now, both phones are already available in the Philippines.

It can now be purchased in Xiaomi Official Store at Shopee and Lazada.

So what are the main difference between the two phones, except for the obvious 5G-capability of the latter one?

In this article, we will highlight the difference in specification between these two newly launched phones in the country.

OS: Both the Redmi Note 10S and Redmi Note 10 5G boots from Android 11. However, it is noticeable that while both phones operate on the Android 11 version, GSM Arena listed Redmi Note 10S with a higher version of MIUI 12.5 as opposed to Redmi Note 10 5G's only MIUI 12.

DISPLAY. In terms of display, there is a huge disparity between the two phones. The Redmi Note 10S has a 6.43-inch AMOLED display while the Redmi Note 10 5G is equipped with 6.5-inch IPS LCD Display.. Both phones have Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection making them less attractive in this area as the majority of newly released phones nowadays are being employed with at least Gorilla Glass 5.

GPU/CPU. Both phones do have Octa-core processors. At the heart of the Redmi Note 10S is MediaTek Helio G95 chipset and Mali-G76 MC4 GPU. On the contrary, the Redmi Note 10 5G has MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset and Mali-G57 MC2.

MEMORY. Redmi Note 10S has several variants of phones in terms of storage. The largest one is limited to 128GB of storage while its smallest variant of storage is a mere 64GB. On the other hand, Redmi Note 10 5G is superb with the 256GB variant being the largest storage and 64GB storage as the smallest one. In terms of RAM, each variant is equipped with 4GB,  6GB, or 8GB.

CAMERA. In this category,  the Redmi Note 10S has the upper hand. It has a quad rear camera at 64MP/8MP/2MP/2MP respectively. On the other side, the Redmi Note 10 5G has triple rear cameras of its own rated at 48MP/2MP/2MP respectively. The selfie camera of Redmi Note 10S is also much better at 13MP compared to Redmi Note 10 5G's only 8MP.

PRICE. The price of these two phone models varies according to variant or specifications. For the purpose of comparison, we are going to use the same variant of the phone (128GB/8GB). According to Xiaomi Official Global Store at Shopee, the price of the Redmi Note 10S is Php 11,990 while the Redmi Note 10 5G is Php 11,490. It is clear here that the Redmi Note 10S is a little bit pricier compared to the 5G variant.
