Poco M3 Pro 5G versus Redmi Note 10 5G: Which One is Better?

The Poco M3 Pro 5G was released last May 22, less than a month after Redmi Note 10 5G was released on April 28.

The Poco M2 Pro 5G is dubbed as a rebranded Redmi Note 10 5G. This is because the two phones have almost exactly the same specifications, and we know that Poco, although an independent phone brand, is also owned by Chinese phone-maker Xiaomi.

Although these phones have identical specifications, their prices are different. In the Philippines, Poco M3 Pro 5G 6GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage variant is priced at Php 11,990 while the 4GB RAM/64GB Internal Storage variant is priced at Php 8,990. On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10 5G 8GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage variant is priced at Php 11,490 while the 4GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage variant is priced at Php 9,990. It can be noted here that the pricing of the Poco M3 Pro 5G is set higher than the Redmi Note 10 5G.

Below is the main specification of the two phones:

  • MediaTek MT6833 Dimensity 700 5G Octa-core Processor
  • Android 11, MIUI 12
  • 6.5-inch IPS LCD Display
  • 48MP/2MP/2MP Main Cameras
  • 8MP Selfie Camera
  • 64GB/128GB/256GB Internal Storage
  • 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM variants
  • 5,000mAh Battery
  • see full specs here.

So what are some of the differences between the two phones?

Based on the specifications comparison tool from GSM Arena, the Poco M3 Pro 5G, is limited to variants having 4GB RAM/64GB Internal Storage, and 6GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage unlike to Redmi Note 10 5G which has several variants that include 4GB RAM/64GB Internal Storage, 4GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage, 6GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage, 8GB RAM/128GB Internal Storage, 8GB RAM/256GB Internal Storage.

Other than the above-mentioned difference in terms of variants, the other difference between the two phones points to the physical design. Pranob Mehrotra of XDA Developers phrased "the POCO M3 Pro 5G features a different two-tone back panel finish. The device comes in three different colorways — Power Black, POCO Yellow, and Cool Blue — all of which feature a black section around the camera module that looks an awful lot like the Galaxy S21‘s camera design. This section houses the POCO branding, and you can also see 5G branding on the back panel towards the bottom of the phone.

To end and answer the question which one is the better phone. I would say the Redmi Note 10 5G is the better one if only the specifications and pricing are the criteria. The Redmi Note 10 5G is priced lower compared to Poco M3 Pro 5G although the variant of the latter has lower memory storage.

Poco X3 PRO versus Poco X3 NFC: What are the MAIN Differences?

You have probably heard the two phones Poco X3 Pro and Poco X3 NFC. And perhaps, you are wondering which one is a better phone for gaming or photography?

In this article, we are going to compare the phones in terms of specifications, prices, and functionality.

For starters, the Poco X3 NFC was released last September 8, 2020. While the other one, Poco X3 Pro was just released this year, specifically last March 24, 2021. So the PRO is relatively new compared to the NFC.

So what are the main differences between the two phones?

OS: The PRO coming out of the box runs on Android-based MIUI 11 compared to the NFC which operates on the older version of Android-based OS, MIUI 10.

DISPLAY. There is not much difference between the two except for the glass protection. The PRO is the latest version that has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 as opposed to the NFC's Gorilla Glass 5.

GPU/CPU. Both phones do have Octa-core processors. At the heart of the PRO is Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 while the NFC has Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G. Meanwhile, both also have Adreno GPU. The PRO runs on Adreno 640 and 618 for NFC. By numbers, we can conclude that the PRO is equipped with better chip

MEMORY. The PRO one has several variants of phones in terms of storage. The largest one has 256GB of storage. It also has a 128GB variant, its smallest variant of storage. On the other hand, the NFC one is limited to the 128GB variant being the largest storage, and the variant having just 64GB storage as the smallest one. In terms of RAM, each variant is equipped either with 6GB or 8GB.

CAMERA. The NFC has better main cameras having 64MP/13MP compared to PRO's only 48MP/8MP. Both models have a 20MP selfie camera.

PRICE. The price of these two phone models varies according to variant or specifications. Since online shopping is the new norm nowadays, we gather the data mainly from the most popular shopping apps in the country, Lazada. Below is the pricing of the phones, subject to change based on the prevailing promos and offerings.

Prices in Lazada:
Poco X3 Pro:   256GB PHP 13,990; 128GB PHP 10,990
Poco X3 NFC: 128GB PHP10,990; 64GB PHP 8,990

So far these are just the main differences between these two popular phones in the Philippines.

So we can conclude now that Poco X3 PRO is better for Gaming purposes because it is primarily equipped with better chipsets, yet the Poco X3 NFC is better for Photography owing to its higher camera specification.
